Welcome to St. Isidore’s Family Faith Formation, a method of prayer and catechesis and for our families in their homes. Family Faith Formation is our pathway for preparation for the sacraments of First Communion and Confirmation.
Why should we have catechesis instruction in the home with the whole family? God’s plan for each and every family is very important. The family is also known as a domestic church: a community of faith, hope, and love. The love of a family is a reflection of the love of God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. When we pray daily as a family, the love of the family is strengthened. When we read from the Bible as a family, God is with us in a very powerful way.
You, as parents, have a very important role in teaching your children the Catholic faith. You have the responsibility and privilege of being the first evangelizers of your children. God has given you the grace to do this and you cannot be replaced. You are invited to look at your sons and daughters as “children of God”, to teach them right from wrong, to be good examples for them, and to teach them all about our Catholic faith.
We are here to help. We will endeavor to provide you with tools necessary to teach your children. Our goal is to support your very important role as the first teachers of your children.
We will be meeting for retreats several times each year and come together as a parish community to pray, learn about the life of our Church, and listen to God’s Word in addition to your time at home.
