Donations and Collections
One of the critical ministries for our parish community is the processing of donations and funds received. We are fortunate to have two teams of volunteers who each week conduct the tedious tasks of calculating these funds and directing them to their appropriate accounts. These cost saving activities that support our parish's staff allow for the receiving ministries at our local, diocesan, national and international levels to have available the maximum of the donated funds. They, like St. Matthew, participate in aiding others who are in need, convincing them that salvation is achieved through Jesus.
|St. Matthew, one of the twelve Apostles and the patron saint of bankers, is the author of the first Gospel. This has been the constant tradition of the Church and is confirmed by the Gospel itself. He was called to be an Apostle while sitting in the tax collectors place at Capernaum. St. Matthew's Gospel was written to fill a sorely-felt want for his fellow countrymen, both believers and unbelievers...designed to convince them that the Messiah had come in the person of Jesus, our Lord, in Whom all the promises of the Messianic Kingdom embracing all people had been fulfilled.... His feastday is September 21.|
